What is "Ready, Set, Grow!" Passport?

It is a free community-wide program to help children be as ready for school as they can be -by giving them a healthy start in life as well as experiences to help develop their abilities for the future.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

  • Pregnant women can enroll in the program before their child is born
     

  • All children from birth to kindergarten.
     

  • Must reside in Genesee County/GISD area

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS

  • Passport members receive:
     

  • A membership card
     

  • A Resource Guide
     

  • An immunization and health care record-keeping tool
     

  • .A booklet that keeps identifying information and photos of your child
     

  • Free fingerprints of your child by the Genesee County Sheriff's Department
     

  • Fire and Gun Safety Prevention activities
     

  • Newsletters and other materials on child development, parenting and community resources
     

  • Discounts and free gifts and services from participating businesses and organizations
     

  • Telephone calls from Passport staff to provide assistance (i.e., referrals for health insurance, developmental
    assessments, vision and dental screening information)
     

  • Linkages to local school district, Project S.K.I.P to a Great Start (Successful Kids=Involved Parents),
    Public Libraries and 4C's Coordinated Childcare
     

  • Safe Sleep information
     

  • Referrals for Smoking Cessation services .

IT IS ALL FREE

The Passport booklet will help you keep a record of your child's health from the time you begin pre~atal care up until your child enters Kindergarten. Members can also choose to earn points ( i.e., by getting prenatal care, immunizations, well baby check-ups, reading to children, taking music classes, doing volunteer work -a whole list of things) toward "Kid Cash:' These coupons can be redeemed at participating businesses for discounts and free gifts or services.
